RE: Your comment:

"Mayor Siegel, the Planning and Zoning Commission, and City Staff did an outstanding job envisioning the positive economic development that can take place in Bellaire’s Research and Development District (RDD) through Council’s recent adoption of the Comprehensive Plan. The RDD is across the street from this new potential stadium site owned by Midway Companies. Mayor Siegel and other city planners were understandably surprised with the recent news, since envisioning for the RDD did not include any discussions of a potential stadium as it was not contemplated at the time."

It appears from the presentation on the Bellaire website that Midway companies had a plan for this parcel that never metioned a stadium.
http://ci.bellaire.tx.us/DocumentView.aspx?DID=480
They were working together on this as the plan appears to be a joint plan between METRO, City of Bellaire and Midway.

I can see why Mayor Siegel was surprised. Why the sudden change???

As a resident of Bellaire for almost 14 years (north of Bissonnet and thus closer to this proposed site) I am deeply concerned with the noise and traffic congestion that this will bring to the already congested area. If a 20,000+ seat stadium for soccer, concerts and college football games is approved and 1/2 mile from my front door we will strongly consider moving. We love our neighbors and Bellaire but the quality of life WILL be affected. Please keep in mind the homes north of Bissonnet - some of these sit DIRECTLY BEHIND this parcel of land.
Thank you.

"The Dynamo have remained committed to not only being a first-class organization, but also a great community partner."
Great point. Just look what their players have done at the cancer center.
